In a bid to address grievances regarding her NEET-UG 2026 examination results, Arya Singh and her father, Rakesh Singh, have embarked on a protest outside the National Testing Agency (NTA) office in Delhi. Rakesh, a former soldier, supports his daughter’s claims that her test results were unfairly altered. The protest follows the NTA’s firm dismissal of allegations from candidates that their results were inconsistent with their original OMR answer sheets. The agency has labeled purported evidence of discrepancies circulating on social media as fake, digitally altered, or artificially generated, maintaining that these do not align with official records.
Arya Singh, hailing from Kanpur, asserts that her score in the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination was tampered with after the official results were released. According to her, the score initially read 570 marks but was later inexplicably adjusted to 167. She has highlighted errors in the OMR sheet provided by the NTA, including missing question numbers and duplicate serial numbers. In response to her objections, Arya claims the agency issued another OMR sheet reflecting a different score of 609 marks.
Rakesh Singh has expressed dissatisfaction with the NTA’s response and indicated that the family would persist in their protest until they receive satisfactory explanations. He has also made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking intervention and action against what he describes as irregularities within the examination process. Despite these claims, the NTA remains steadfast in its position, asserting that all original OMR sheets are in concordance with the scores that were publicly declared. The agency emphasizes the security measures in place, including barcodes and QR codes on official examination documents.
The controversy arises in the context of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination, which took place on June 21. This re-examination was necessitated after the original exam held in May was annulled due to allegations of a paper leak. The Central Bureau of Investigation is actively investigating the case as part of an ongoing probe.
