Bengal to adopt Modi’s fuel-saving technology, says CM Adhikari.

In a move to conserve fuel, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has instructed his security team to reduce the number of vehicles in his convoy. This decision comes in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent message urging citizens to adopt austerity measures amid global economic challenges. Speaking to the media after his swearing-in ceremony as the MLA from Kolkata’s Bhabanipur, Adhikari emphasized the importance of setting an example by minimizing vehicle usage.

“I watched Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message to the people. He has always set examples and shown us the way,” Adhikari stated. He added that the number of vehicles accompanying him should not exceed the necessary minimum, highlighting his commitment to following the Prime Minister’s lead. Adhikari’s convoy was reduced to five vehicles during his arrival at the legislative assembly, compared to the usual eight to ten cars typically used for such movements in the city.

Prime Minister Modi recently addressed the nation, urging citizens to contribute to managing economic uncertainties caused by a global spike in crude oil prices, a consequence of the ongoing West Asia conflict. Among the recommended measures were carpooling, utilizing public transport, working from home, reducing gold purchases, and limiting foreign travel. Although not mandatory, Adhikari supports the Prime Minister’s call for action, indicating that those who align with this vision will naturally embrace these practices.

State officials have confirmed that all Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs and ministers in West Bengal are expected to adhere to the directive of using fewer vehicles. This move underscores a collective effort within the party to practice fuel conservation as encouraged by the Prime Minister.

Adhikari’s decision reflects a broader commitment to responsible governance and sets a precedent for other leaders to follow. By aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision, Adhikari reinforces the importance of leadership in addressing economic challenges and promoting sustainability practices.
