Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone on Wednesday, celebrating 25 years of continuous public service with an address at the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ in New Delhi. Reflecting on his journey that began on October 7, 2001, as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Modi attributed his success to the unwavering trust and support of the people, which he described as his greatest strength.
During his speech, Modi expressed gratitude to citizens and party workers, emphasizing their pivotal role in his political career. He acknowledged the importance of both supporters and critics, stating that while supporters encouraged him, critics provided valuable lessons that helped him grow and overcome challenges.
Central to Modi’s vision is the ambition of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047. He reiterated the need for collective efforts from all citizens to achieve this goal, highlighting self-reliance and aiming for India to become one of the world’s top three economies. Modi stressed that the country’s progress hinges on unity and collective initiative.
Modi also shared his ongoing commitment to learning, a trait he says has been integral throughout his public life. He described himself as a lifelong student, eager to embrace new knowledge, a habit formed during his school days in Vadnagar.
In a nod to India’s advancements in aviation, Modi highlighted the bravery of Indian pilot Smit Machchhar during a recent incident involving a flydubai flight. He expressed optimism about India eventually producing its own aircraft, further underscoring the country’s growing capabilities.
The Prime Minister concluded his address by urging continued collective efforts to build a stronger, more self-reliant India by 2047. He reiterated his gratitude to the people and party workers, describing their support as foundational to his public service journey.
