In a significant move to combat drug abuse, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’. This initiative calls upon young individuals to spearhead a nationwide campaign against substance abuse. Each Sunday will witness events aimed at raising awareness, including sports competitions, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programs, and community outreach efforts.
During a virtual address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the threats posed by drug trafficking, which, he stated, are being exploited by hostile forces to undermine India’s interests and target its youth. He underscored the importance of shielding the younger generation from addiction as a crucial step toward realizing the goal of a developed India, or Viksit Bharat. Modi commended the involvement of over one crore young people from diverse backgrounds in this initiative, reflecting a broad commitment to the cause.
