Advanced Forecasting Tech Alerts Delhi-NCR to Relief from Rain and Storms

On Thursday, parts of Delhi-NCR experienced a welcome shift in weather as heavy rains and powerful thunderstorms swept through the region, providing much-needed relief from the recent period of extreme heat. As dark clouds loomed overhead, strong winds and precipitation affected multiple areas across the region.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the upcoming two days, cautioning residents about the likelihood of continued rain and thunderstorms along with potential disruptions due to adverse weather conditions. Citizens are advised to keep abreast of official weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure safety during this period.

In a related development, the IMD has also declared the arrival of the southwest monsoon over Kerala, signaling the start of India’s annual four-month rainy season. This onset occurred within the timeframe projected by the department, and the monsoon is expected to progressively extend to other regions of the country in the weeks ahead.

The rainfall in Delhi-NCR is anticipated to bring down temperatures, offering a reprieve from the intense summer heat experienced over the past several days and improving overall weather conditions in the area.
