China and India are gearing up for the 25th round of Special Representatives’ Talks on the longstanding Boundary Question, as confirmed by a representative from China’s Foreign Ministry. In a recent press briefing, spokesman Guo Jiakun highlighted that the two nations are actively engaged in dialogue concerning border issues, striving to adhere to the agreements laid out in their last discussion round.
Currently, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is in New Delhi for the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. During his visit, he held talks with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, further underscoring the ongoing diplomatic exchanges between the two countries.
Guo emphasized that the situation along the China-India border remains stable, with effective communication channels in place. The spokesman reiterated that both sides are diligently working to implement the consensus reached in the 24th round of boundary discussions, reflecting a commitment to managing and resolving border issues.
Expectations for the upcoming talks are centered on continuing efforts to address these border challenges and to sustain peace and stability along the frontier. Both nations seem committed to maintaining open lines of communication and building on the progress made in previous negotiations.
