India, US Deny Stalled Trade Talks, Highlight Tech Collaboration Progress

Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor have refuted recent reports suggesting that India turned down a proposal for a fast-track trade agreement with the United States, labeling such claims as “false” and “misleading.” Both officials emphasized the constructive nature of ongoing discussions between the two nations, aiming to achieve a balanced and mutually advantageous trade deal.

Goyal highlighted that his recent engagements with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer were fruitful, reinforcing the commitment of both governments to work towards a comprehensive trade agreement. These discussions are seen as a positive step forward, with the focus on creating a trade framework that benefits both countries.

Sergio Gor echoed Goyal’s sentiments, describing the bilateral talks as productive.
